Is there any proof of God?

The Fossil Record - is there evidence of transitional forms!

If the fossil record does not supply credible evidence to support evolution, that only leaves one other possibility for the origin of life - God!  The Bible says that God created each living thing 'after it's kind'.  In other words, there was no gradual transition where one kind evolved over time to become a completely different kind but rather, each kind was created separately.

So we need to ask, does the fossil record show transitional kinds (supporting the theory of evolution) or spontaneous kinds with no in between stages (supporting the biblical creation)?

Charles Darwin honestly confessed,

The number of intermediate varieties, which have formerly existed on the earth, [must] be truly enormous. Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graded organic chain; and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory. [emphasis added]

In "The Origin of Species" chapter nine, Charles Darwin said,

Why, if species have descended from other species by insensibly fine gradations, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms.

That's a good question to ask.   If evolution is true, then we would 'everywhere see innumerable transitional forms'.

Have Charles Darwin's 'missing links' in the fossil record been found?  If so, do these fossils prove evolution is true or do they give yet another reason as to why a person would believe in God.   For a long time evolutionists have searched for the missing fossil links (transitional fossils) that they believe would show a transition from one kind of living being to another - such as apes to man.

Consider below the testimony of a prominent evolutionist on the fossil record.

EVOLUTIONIST SAYS THERE ARE NO CREDIBLE TRANSITIONAL FOSSILS

One place you'd expect to see fossils is in a museum.  Consider the following quote from Dr Colin Patterson, (now deceased) which was made while he was the senior paleontologist (someone who knows lots about fossils - an expert) at the British Museum of Natural History.  Dr Patterson had written a book called, Evolution but was accused by an anti-creationist of not adding any illustrations of transitional fossil forms in this book.

Dr Patterson replied...

I fully agree with your comments on the lack of direct illustration of evolutionary transitions in my book. If I knew of any, fossil or living, I would certainly have included them. You suggest that an artist should be used to visualise such transformations, but where would he get the information from? I could not, honestly, provide it, and if I were to leave it to artistic licence, would that not mislead the reader?

Dr Patterson also said,

Yet Gould [This is Stephen J. Gould who before he died was professor of paleontology from Harvard University] and the American Museum people are hard to contradict when they say there are no transitional fossils. … You say that I should at least “show a photo of the fossil from which each type of organism was derived.” I will lay it on the line—there is not one such fossil for which one could make a watertight argument. [Emphasis added].

A SHOCKING REVELATION

Evolutionists are faced with this problem of not having any credible fossil evidence to show transitional forms in an evolutionary tree of life.  But they cannot admit it because it means they would would have to confess that evolution is not a fact but a faith. This is something that Dr Patterson honestly wrestled with for some time before making a bold and shocking revelation....

At the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, on November 5, 1981 Dr Colin Patterson gave a presentation entitled "Evolutionism and Creationism" to the Systematics Discussion Group.  Here are few quotes taken from a transcript of his message

… I’m speaking on two subjects, evolutionism and creationism, and I believe it’s true to say that I know nothing whatever about either … One of the reasons I started taking this anti-evolutionary view, well, let’s call it non-evolutionary, was last year I had a sudden realisation.

… One morning I woke up … and it struck me that I had been working on this stuff [ie. evolution] for twenty years, and there was not one thing I knew about it.

That was quite a shock that one could be misled for so long … I’ve tried putting a simple question to various people and groups of people: “Can you tell me anything you know about evolution, any one thing that you think is true?” I tried that question on the geology staff in the Field Museum of Natural History, and the only answer I got was silence. I tried it on the members of the Evolutionary Morphology Seminar in the University of Chicago … and all I got there was silence for a long time, and then eventually one person said: “Yes, I do know one thing. It ought not to be taught in high school.” [emphasis added]  www.arn.org/arnproducts/audios/c010.htm
